I worked in the CBD commuting by train.

Each morning a young lady would get on the same carriage as me and without looking at anyone, immediately sat in the nearest empty seat and bring out a book to read.

The first time I saw her I thought her to be quite captivating yet there was something about her that implied a sadness and a sense of aloneness.

She was reading the book of the same title which caught my attention ‘ … the girl on the train reading ‘The Girl On The Train’.

I hope she is still reading her books.
