A musical memorial to my late great Uncle Albert. He was a Cockney lad who, like many others, joined up to serve in World War 1. He commenced service in Europe I believe, however later went to New Zealand and signed up with the 3 Auckland Infantry as part of the New Zealand Expeditionary Forces. He was wounded at Gallipoli and died aboard HMHS Sicilia on 9 June 1915. He was aged either 22 or 24 depending on which record you read.
